Brussels, Belgium — The Global Think-Tank of Organizational Tacit Knowledge Management (GO-TKM), a Belgium-based non-profit organization advancing the field of tacit knowledge management (TKM), is proud to announce the “Top 50 Most Influential People in Tacit Knowledge Management 2025.”

Following months of rigorous evaluation and nomination review, GO-TKM has identified 50 exceptional individuals from academia, industry, and innovation sectors who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the understanding, application, and dissemination of tacit knowledge. The full Top 50 list will be formally announced on Saturday, January 24, 2026, during the GO-TKM Davos Forum online session—a virtual gathering designed to retain wisdom, fuel AI disruption, and shape the future of knowledge-driven organizations.

A message to the pioneers of tacit knowledge

For decades, tacit knowledge management (TKM) has remained an underrecognized yet critical discipline. Behind the scenes, researchers, practitioners, and innovators have tirelessly worked to decode, transfer, and apply tacit knowledge—the kind that fuels innovation, preserves expertise, and sustains organizational learning.

“These are the true pilots of our field,” said Prof. Sylviane Cannio, President of GO-TKM. “Their work often goes unseen, yet it forms the backbone of how organizations learn, adapt, and excel. This award is our way of honoring their invisible legacy and bringing their contributions into the light.”

Selection criteria and honoree profiles

Top 50 honorees were selected based on measurable impact in one or more of the following areas:

  • Academic Leadership: Professors, scholars, and researchers who have published groundbreaking books, papers, or frameworks in TKM.
  • Practice Excellence: Practitioners who have successfully implemented TKM principles within organizations, driving tangible outcomes.
  • Tool & System Innovation: Developers and organizations that have created applications, platforms, or methodologies to enable tacit knowledge capture and sharing.

Candidates were evaluated on publications, articles, keynote presentations at KM/TKM conferences, applied contributions, and technological innovations.

Important note on nominees

A number of outstanding individuals were nominated and recognized for their significant contributions. The fact that some nominees did not appear on the final Top 50 list is not a reflection of their excellence. The Top 50 limit is a constraint we must adhere to, and thousands of worthy contributions exist within our field. We encourage all nominees to continue developing in this field, as their efforts are invaluable to individuals, communities, and society at large.
