GO-TKM Appoints Dr. Patrick S.W. Fong as Australian-Chief Academic Officer

Brussels, Belgium – March 18, 2025 – GO-TKM, a globally recognized non-profit organization headquartered in Belgium and dedicated to advancing Tacit Knowledge Management (TKM), is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Patrick S.W. Fong as its Australian-Chief Academic Officer (CAO). In this strategic role, Dr. Fong will lead academic research, foster cross-sector collaboration, and drive initiatives to enhance the understanding and application of tacit knowledge in organizational and industrial contexts.
Dr. Fong is a renowned expert in knowledge management, organizational behavior, and construction innovation, with over three decades of experience spanning academia and industry. Currently an Associate Professor at Griffith University’s School of Engineering and Built Environment (Australia), he also serves as Program Director for the Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours), shaping the next generation of industry leaders.
His distinguished career in the field of Knowledge Management includes:
- Former Associate Director of the Knowledge Management and Innovation Research Centre (KMIRC) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).
- Vice President of the Hong Kong Knowledge Management Society (HKKMS).
- Judge for the Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Awards in Hong Kong.
- Co-Editor of the seminal book titled “Management of Knowledge in Project Environments” published by Elsevier in 2005.
Pioneering Research and Global Impact
Dr. Fong’s research focuses on tacit knowledge capture, knowledge-driven innovation, and organizational learning, with recent presentations at leading conferences in Australia (2024) and the U.S. (2025). His groundbreaking work includes:
- Developing the first Knowledge Management Performance Index (KMPI) for construction firms in Hong Kong.
- Publishing influential studies on visualizing knowledge evolution in project-based industries.
- Advancing interdisciplinary approaches to knowledge transfer in engineering and built environments.
